പുന്നപ്ര വടക്ക് പറവൂർ വെങ്കലത്തറ വീട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ചു. പ്രാഥമികവിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നേടി. കയർ തൊഴിലാളി. പുന്നപ്ര സമരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. വലതുകണ്ണിനു താഴെ ആഴത്തിൽ മുറിവേറ്റ ഒരുപാട് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പി.ഇ.7/1122 നമ്പർ കേസിൽ പ്രതിയായതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് 1946 ഒക്ടോബർ മുതൽ 1955 വരെ ഒളിവിൽ കഴിയേണ്ടിവന്നു. ഒളിവുകാല പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ വി.എസ്. അച്യുതാനന്ദനുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
