ആലപ്പുഴ തെക്ക് വാടയ്ക്കല് വാര്ഡ് വടക്കെതയ്യില് വീട്ടില് 1920-ൽ ബർണാഡിന്റെ മകനായി ജനനം. പ്രാഥമികവിദ്യാഭ്യാസം. കയർ തൊഴിലാളി. പുന്നപ്ര പൊലീസ് ക്യാമ്പ് ആക്രമണത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. ഇടതുതോളിന്റെ ഭാഗത്തു വെടിയേറ്റു. പൊലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു ലോക്കപ്പിലായി. ക്രൂരമർദ്ദനത്തിനിരയായി. മൂന്നുമാസം ജയിലിൽ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞു. വീണ്ടും ലോക്കപ്പിലാവുകയും ആരോഗ്യസ്ഥിതി വഷളായതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് ആറുമാസം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ വിട്ടയച്ചു. സ്ഥിരം രോഗിയായി. 1964-നുശേഷം സിപിഐ(എം)ൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
